By becoming an affiliate of someone else's site. When you become an affiliate of many online businesses, you get your 'own' version of their site. This is the fastest way to get into business and start making money.

Buy. The next option is for you to buy a website. You can buy a site that has just been built, or a site that already has a proven track record. The advantage of buying a brand new site is you are in full control of the site's reputation in the marketplace. With a little marketing savvy, you can have visitors in your door, the same day you buy the site.

If you choose to buy a site that has been around for some time, you also inherit the site's traffic, marketing systems and procedures. If you have your own web site, or even just a blog, you might not be in it for the money, but at some point you probably consider that it would be nice if you had a way to earn enough to pay your hosting fees, or for a new computer, or whatever.

At the same time, you might not want to bother finding merchandise to sell, and go through all that hassle. Some active sites sell advertising space on their site, but unless your traffic is substantial, or your Google Pagerank is very high, that will be difficult to do.

By far, the easiest way to earn a few dollars from any web site is to get accepted to the Google AdSense program. Once you're approved, all you have to do is put a little snippet of code onto your page in a place where your visitors will notice, and Google will find advertisters that want to show ads on your site. After figuring out what your page is all about, usually the ads are pertinent to your content (they're called "contextual ads"), so if your blog or site is about skiing, your visitors would normally see skiing ads. If your site is about cajun recipes, those types of ads will be shown.
